The Hidden Specimen, A Curated Exhibit
At the end of my two year career as the Education & Outreach Director at the Puget Sound Museum (PSM), I had the great honor of trying my hand at exhibit curation and put together The Hidden Specimen: Museum collections through the eyes of local artists. This exhibit featured the work of 18 local artists who regularly attended the museum’s monthly drawing nights and was the ultimate combination of science and art. It was such a special experience to support artists who love museum specimens as much as I do and curate a professional show. Hosting the monthly drawing nights at PSM, getting to know so many incredible artists, and bringing specimens to the public through their art was one of the most joyous experiences of my life. An incredibly massive thank you to Peter Wimberger for allowing me to run with my ideas, Peter Stanley for managing the gallery and helping me through every step of this process, and all of the incredible artists featured in the show.
